Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 2 Community Benefit Fund 2026 is now open for applications!
The 2026 Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 2 Community Benefit Fund is now open for applications. The Fund will provide grants to local community groups, not-for-profit organisations or social enterprises that operate or service communities near the wind farm, for projects that will create positive social and environmental impacts, subject to the Fund's overall terms and conditions.

Applicants should allow approximately 45-60 minutes to complete their application. The application portal will close on Friday 15th May at 5pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Note: Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. Each funding application will be evaluated on a case by case basis in accordance with the Fund's Criteria outlined in the Fund's Terms and Conditions. As per the Fund's Terms and Conditions, only one application per group, per year may be submitted.
Phase 1 Community Benefit Fund
The Oweninny Phase 1 Community Benefit Fund Scheme is managed by Mayo County Council, who have established a representative Board of Directors and Evaluation Committee to oversee the Governance of the Fund. Both the board and the evaluation committee have representation from the local community.
Applications are sought annually from clubs, associations, and other groups whose work support community-based initiatives and improvement projects. Applications received are evaluated in line with Mayo County Council’s policy on community benefit contributions required for certain major developments.
